Festival Overview

The 9th Maryport Blues Festival was held over the weekend of Friday 27th to Sunday 29th July 2007. The reviews concentrate on the main stage events in the marquee located at the Netherhall rugby ground. The festival trail in various pubs and clubs presented over twenty bands as alternatives to the main stage.

2007 Guitanchor Design

Oliver Bentley, a graphic design student at the Cumbria Institute of Arts, designed the leaflets and posters for this year's festival. The unusual design features a guitar looking like an anchor and chain, which splashes out of the water against an acid green background. He has called it 'Guitanchor'. Oliver, who is 20, will be studying jazz at Leeds music college from September, but has also set up as a freelance graphic designer. Oliver's website is www.split.co.uk. Great design, Oliver, we wish you well!
