Tubby Blues Club was created to raise money for the Renal Unit of
the Gloucester Royal Hospital, by Michael O' Connor, better known as
Tubby. He was a patient there, and as an act of gratitude after his
discharge, he decided to set up the Tubby Blues Club with the aim of
buying new equipment for the Renal Unit. His love of blues music and his
desire to help others has enabled this unique Club to grow and prosper
to one of the most successful in the UK. Sadly Tubby died on 23rd.
February 2007, but his memory lives on in this his club. |

the quality of life for its patients. This is achieved by medical

and spiritual support for the patient and their family and carers.
Care is given unconditionally and free of charge to adults who need
it regardless of religious or cultural belief. Hospices are about
people helping people. You may never know these people, or their

Chris Farlowe headlines with the
Norman Beaker Band, plus Bad Influence
and The Werewolves of London, Dr JJ's Blues Band and The Sultana
Brothers. Sadly Little Jenny & The Blue Beans have had to cancel
because of ill-health, but the Frank White Band is able to take their
place.
Blues
aficionado
Chris Powers is MC and DJ for the weekend, playing tasty tracks
from his eclectic vinyl blues collection. |
