Van Morrison and his band, consisting of keyboards, pedal steel/dobro, fiddle, guitar, bass, drums and three backing singers were up next. Van cruised his way through a country flavoured set including Talk is Cheap, Nothing Gonna Be Alright, Tear Your Playhouse Down, Gotta Stop which included a great fiddle solo, I Can’t Stop Lovin’ You, Help Me (Sonnyboy Williamson) and finished off with Gloria which the capacity audience sang-along to.

Sharrie Williams and the Wiseguys

How to follow Van Morrison and close the Saturday night? Easy - Sharrie Williams with her powerful gospel, jazzy R&B and blues from the heart. The band kicked things off with an instrumental before Sharrie joined the band for a high energy set of blues based material. Songs included in this very enjoyable set were Fire In My Veins, Song About Jealousy, Just You and Me and I’m Here to Stay. A good end to Saturday night with a tight band providing solid support for a great singer. Awesome!!
