The Linton Festival,
now in its eighth year, is held in the grounds of the Alma Inn,
Linton, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire. Twice awarded CAMRA Pub of
the Year for Herefordshire (in 2002 and 2005) and features in
the Good Beer Guide. The grounds slope gradually down to a
purpose-built stage ensuring everyone has an excellent view –
just like a Roman amphitheatre. A wide range of excellent local food was
available, suitable for all tastes including a barbeque, pork
roast, charity cake and baguette stand and new for 2008 - a
Caribbean food stall.
A beer tent offered
20 real ales plus lager, cider, and soft drinks. The Festival is
a non-profit making event and donations are made to various
local causes and charities.
This Festival had
something for everyone. Once again the Festival team are to be
congratulated for their organisational skills and strong band
line-up. Catering, parking, camping, band turn around, ticket
sales, P/A, M/C’s all ran smoothly, generating an atmosphere of
wellbeing for the event. The weather was
fair and rain only
disrupted the last
hour of Saturday
night. A good time
was had by
all.
Thank you and well done Linton! |
