Sherman Robertson at Cuban
Blue, Bridge Street, Hereford
Saturday 4th September 2004
Like a huge clap of overhead thunder, Saturday
September 4th saw Bridge Street Hereford bought to a standstill as
Sherman Robertson took to the street. Guitar blazing from the hip, bystanders
and traffic were silenced as the Texan let rip. This was just one of the forages
he made from the stage at Cuban Blue - setting the
place on fire, performing behind the bar and mingling with the audience.
Mesmerized, the crowd cheered themselves hoarse at his every move. His blues
music and soulful voice were outstanding and this great evening was ended by one
of the best renditions of Otis Redding’s ‘My Girl’, as he cut through the crowd
to sign off from his dressing room.
