Studebaker John - Chicago Blues Legend "Unplugged”
The Gregson Centre, Moor Lane, Lancaster
Wednesday 3rd August 2005

The Gregson was once again treated to a one-off performance by American bluesman ‘Studebaker John’, as he performed an acoustic set with piano man Boogie Bill Roberts.  John is a superb exponent of the vintage sounds of Chicago in the golden age of the '50's on guitar and harmonica with a voice to match, whilst making his own mark on the genre with his timeless compositions.

John is on tour in the UK which revolves around his appearances at two major blues festivals with his band ‘Studebaker John & The Hawks’, following the success of previous headline spots at Colne Blues Festival and a UK tour with Louisiana blues giant ‘Lazy Lester’ earlier this year.

Bill put the event together in collaboration with tour promoter Des Demain and the Gregson Centre, said of the event ”This was a great opportunity to see such a major player in a setting as perfectly suited as the Gregson".

Check out Studebaker John's website

Firstly we had WMD (Robin and Rex) with some classic acoustic blues.....
