Deep South Early Blues Tour 2008 |

In May/June 2008
Christine (wifey) and I went on a four week 'Deep South Early Blues' Tour
of the USA (my second Delta Blues Pilgrimage), taking in Mississippi,
Arkansas, Louisiana and Tennessee. We flew in to
Memphis, TN and after a couple of days drove down Highway 61 to spend six days in and around
Clarksdale, MS. We then carried on down Highway 61 to spend six days in the Vicksburg,
MS area before
continuing on to Lafayette, LA and New Orleans. After six
days in Louisiana we headed north visiting
Jackson, MS, Tupelo, MS, on to Jackson, TN and finally
Nashville, before flying back to the UK via Memphis. We thought it would be interesting to share our experiences by producing a travelogue of our journey, in text and photos. We originally produced some 38 pages of text (typed up on a laptop as we journeyed across the four states), also taking over 4,000 photos along the way, so we have had to condense it all, and split it into sections by our base in each state. OK, so here it is - we hope you enjoy it:
