Tipping
Point is the band formed by the late, great Kevin Thorpe.
Kevin was so passionate and proud of what turned out to be his final
project that his partner, family, friends and colleagues agreed
wholeheartedly that the band project, in which he had so much
faith, should continue.
Kevin
Thorpe's Tipping Point was all set to hit the UK blues scene with a
brand new album and live set which would have been the culmination of
many months of planning, rehearsal and hard work. As it turned out, it
was to be Kevin's final project. He collapsed and died shortly after he
and the band played a rousing set at the Newark Blues Festival on
Saturday 11th September 2010.
Those
closest to Kevin agreed, unreservedly, that he would have wanted the
project, of which he was so proud and passionate, to continue.
'He'd have wanted it that way.'
The new,
'grittier' band which excited Kev so much is:
Dominic Hollands - Lead Guitar/Vocals,
Paul Mallatratt - Bass,
Nigel Lobley - Drums.
Dale Storr (keyboards) joined the band as a special guest on this
occasion.
