BabaJack - a band who is
fast becoming one of the most sought after acts on the UK and
European gig and Festival circuits! Their unique blend of
roots/blues/folk fusion described by Classic Rock magazine as
“an intoxicating brew of blues, folk and roots music” make for a
scintillating show combining great musicianship, passion and
energy that is guaranteed to wow any audience.
Becky Tate
and
Trevor
Steger
are the song
writing core of BabaJack. The band have released four albums in
the last five years with each one gaining greater media
attention and sales figures from the music loving public as
their reputation continues to grow. What
sets BabaJack apart from others is their approach to their music
– it is recognisably infused in part by early blues but is in no
way bound by that. Becky brings roots/funk/African rhythms to
the band’s sound. Trevor brings his own mixture of ‘Punk meets
Ry Cooder’ to his slide guitar style and harmonica on his
growling homemade ‘Winebox guitars’. Add to this Becky’s
beautiful, lyrical vocals and the driving rhythm section of
Tosh Murase
and
Adam
Bertenshaw
and you have
a band destined for great success! -

John Coghlan's Quo |
http://johncoghlan.com/
|
John Coghlan joined Francis Rossi and
Alan Lancaster in their newly-formed band in 1962 and the group
went through a series of names, including Traffic Jam, before
meeting up with Rick Parfitt and becoming Status Quo in the late
60s.
Since leaving Quo in 1981, John has
worked with many noted and diverse musicians, mostly in his own
Diesel Band. Other appearances include Partners In Crime and the
short-lived ‘Rockers’ featuring Phil Lynott, Roy Wood and
Chas Hodges. Additional collaborations have included Noel
Redding (ex-Jimi Hendrix) and Eric Bell (ex-Thin Lizzy).
During the late
nineties John Coghlan’s Quo was formed (with thanks to Pete
Barton for his encouragement) and through various line-ups
has enjoyed regular gigs all over the UK and Europe. The current
band since 2010 (previously performing as The John Coghlan Band)
consists of John on Drums with Baz Barry, Mick Hughes and Pete
Knight from NWOBHM Boogie Band ‘Predatür’ completing the line-up. |
