On Saturday 23rd January 2010 the UK hosts its very first Slide Guitar
Festival, featuring:
Michael Messer and Ed Genis, Tom Doughty and Lucy Zirins.
All take the stage for the evening concert and during the day there are
Workshops & Tuition Talks Demonstrations and Discussions - Michael Messer &
Mark Makin - the opportunity to enter a discussion with two of the world's
foremost experts on instruments built by Dobro, National, Supro, Valco & all
things resonator. Ian McWee of 'Diamond Bottlenecks', -'The History of
Slide, From beef bones & rail track nails, to plastic wonders' with examples
and illustrated by the playing Slidin’ Steve Thompson.
1 to 1 and group tuition from Tom Doughty & Chickenbone John
Barry Reeves will perform after a demonstration of the Bose L1 line array
PA, Basil and Pat Henriques - Slack Key to Console.
All Day Open Mic and Jams
All day £25 evening concert £12:50.

A ‘Diamond Bottlenecks’ Slide and other items will be raffled. The proceeds
will go to to Music Machine - ‘music for the community’ an open access
project which provide space, free instruction, support and access to
instruments.
